On Monday, Lori Vallow Daybell was sentenced at the Fremont County Courthouse to life in prison with no possibility of Parole after she admitted the crime of killing two of her children and conspiring in the murder of her husband’s first wife. She received life in prison for each of the children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and Joshua, 7, and conspiracy to kill Tammy Daybell, her husband’s ex-wife. Those sentences will be given consecutively. She was found guilty in May by the jury on all the charges. Bodies of the children were found buried at her husband Chad Daybell’s home in 2020.

Judge Steven Boyce gave the decision and passed the remarks that an unimaginable murder is of children committed by their mother, which is exactly what Lori did. The victim children’s older brother wrote in a statement that both Tylee and JJ brought so much truth to light and made everything clear. Ryan further said Tylee never had a chance to become a mother, and she would not be able to live the life she deserved, and JJ would also not be able to grow up and spread the light to the world he used to.

Judge repeatedly said the most shocking thing was the murder of children by their own parents. Vallow, whose case was under Netflix focus with a true-crime documentary series, Sins of Our Mother, claimed to be a goddess tasked with ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Lori Vallow Wanted to Make The Murder a Religious Matter

Vallow tried to make the murder a religious matter and said their children’s souls had met her, and they told her she had done nothing wrong. She added she had met the children and her husband’s wife, who were happy and extremely busy in heaven. She described that Jesus knew there was no one murdered in this case. People die in accidents, and suicides happen, and medications also impose fatal side effects, she added. The Judge responded to the remarks and said he didn’t believe that any God in any religion would want this to happen.

The children were last seen in September 2019, and Tammy Daybell died the next month. Vallow and Daybell got married just a few weeks later, and officials found the remains of JJ and Tylee in Daybell’s backyard in Fremont County. Tammy’s sister also expressed sad feelings and said she would never forget her sister and grieve for the rest of her life. She decided not to remember Vallow and said she would not think about her after leaving the courtroom.

There was no talk about the children for weeks, and no one knew. It was declared that JJ had died of some disease, and his grandfather called the police to look into the matter. The call launched a nationwide search of children when police knew kids had been missing for weeks. Vallow denied killing her children and made some theories about Jesus Christ. JJ’s grandmother said Vallow is a monster who has committed a heinous crime and has not grieved for her actions.
