Trump Surrendered, And A Mugshot Of First Ex-US President Was Shared

Former US President Donald Trump was indicted in Georgia for efforts to overturn the 2020 elections, and he surrendered himself in Georgia, where he faces criminal charges. On Thursday afternoon, Mr. Trump traveled from his residence in Bedminster, New Jersey, to the Fulton County jail. He arrived less than a day before his deadline to surrender. Once he surrendered, there was a process to follow, which also included his mugshot, which is the first of any person who served as American President. The process took almost 20 minutes, and then he disappeared through the vehicles waiting outside the jail.

Donald Trump was released on an agreement of $200,000 bond, which is the highest of all his co-defendants. As he left the airport in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump spoke to reporters and said he had all the rights to challenge his defeat in the 2020 elections and denied any wrongdoings. The former President offered a preview of his defense strategy and said they had every single right to challenge such an election they think is dishonest. There are 19 individuals facing charges in the Georgia election case, including Donald Trump. The lawsuit claims that an organization was created to overturn Trump’s defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

Twelve defendants, including the former President, surrendered to the authorities. As of Friday at noon local time (16:00 GMT), all 19 defendants were ordered to surrender. Several prominent allies of former President Trump, such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and lawyer Sidney Powell, have been gradually arriving at the Fulton County jail since Tuesday. Mr Trump expressed that all cases against him are politically motivated.

Trump Declared The Prosecution Politically Motivated

The former President surrendered in Georgia, and his lawyers had some debate with Georgian prosecutors on when the trial should begin. One of Trump’s co-defendants requested the court to declare October 23 as the start date, and the judge accepted the request. Fulton County district attorney Fani Wills, who is prosecuting the Georgina case, followed that ruling with her own request to set that date as the start of all the defendants’ trials. Previously, Willis suggested the date of March 2024 for the beginning of the trial.

The legal team of Donald Trump filed a request to differ Trump’s case from Chesebro’s, which has made a chance that multiple trials can proceed at varied times. While going to Fulton County jail, the former President spoke on social media about Willis and said the prosecution was politically motivated. He added on Truth Social that he has to head down to Atlanta, Georgia, where crimes like murder and other violent crimes have reached their peak. He said he was getting arrested by an attorney, Willis, who is Radical left.

Trump Supporters Gathered Outside The Jail

The Republican leader, Trump, on social media, announced his arrival in Fulton jail at around 7-30 p.m. local time. Even before his arrival, dozens of his supporters gathered around the area wearing pro-Trump shirts and baseball caps, waving flags, and holding banners. Marjorie Taylor Greene, an American representative from Georgia and a good supporter of Donald Trump, joined the crowd at 6 PM. Greene told the local media that she has been standing against the weaponized government whose face is Fani Willis. She added that they would make sure that Willis loses her job.

A group of protesters also arrived at the Fulton County jail; some of them belonged to Republicans Against Trump. A few of them also held some slogans against the former President and some weaning mocking prisoner costumes. News reporters were kept away from the jail’s car park, where they usually kept footage from. The Federal Aviation Authority closed the airspace over the jail for almost one and a half hours.
