On Tuesday, Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson proclaimed that the January 6th Committee inquiring about the U.S. Capitol attack issued three more subpoenas asking for responsive documents and deposition from a Donald Trump official who purportedly helped drafting the ex-US President Donald Trump’s address at a demonstration preceding an assault, as well as two of the Trump’s advisors who allegedly communicated with rally organizers of the rally and orators.

The January 6th Committee issued subpoenas for records, testimony, and deposition to the following individuals.

  • An ex-White House official Ross Worthington, who helped draft the former American President Trump’s 6th JAN speech for the demonstration at the Ellipse, in which Trump baselessly asserted the 2020 election was fraudulent. The panel asked Mr. Worthington to appear for a deposition on 2nd February.
  • Strategists Arthur Schwartz and Andy Surabian, who both served as advisors to Mr. Trump, and were communicating with persons including Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle and Mr. Trump, regarding the 6th JAN Ellipse protest. The committee asked Mr. Schwartz to appear for a deposition on 31st December and Mr. Surabian on 1st February.

According to the panel Chairman, the House Select Panel is seeking information from those who were involved with the demonstration at the Ellipse. Jan. 6th demonstration intensified into a riot on their democracy. Moreover, demonstrators became attackers who carried out a violent attempt to obstruct the peaceful transition of power.

Surabian’s Lawyer Claims His Client has Zero Involvement in Organizing Jan. 6 Rally

A Democrat from Mississippi also said that they’ve reason to believe the individuals, whom the committee subpoenaed on 11th January have related information, and they anticipate them to join the over 340 people who have spoken with the panel as they push ahead to probe that Capitol riot on their democracy and make sure nothing like this ever reoccurs.

The panel says it has responsive documents on file that display Ross Worthington helped craft Donald Trump’s address at the demonstration. The committee says in the subpoena letter that it wants to talk to former White House official about lines in the speech of the former President that baselessly claim that the 2020 Presidential contest was stolen and conceivably provoked ferocity.

Furthermore, the House Select Panel highlights the lines of Donald Trump’s speech where he asked his followers to “fight much harder and stop the steal.” Additionally, the letter references the section of Trump’s speech where he prompted attendees to proceed toward Capitol Hill and said that he’d be there with them.

The lawyer of Surabian said in a Twitter statement that his client would cooperate with the panel ‘within reason,’ but they’re confused to as his client is being subpoenaed, asserting he was not involved in the events that took place at the U.S. Capitol that day, zero involvement in organizing the protest. Moreover, he’d been ‘off the payroll of the Donald Trump campaign as of 15th November 2020.

In addition, the panel subpoenaed Arthur Schwartz and Andy Surabian, who the committee says contributed to the planning of the Ellipse demonstration, communicating with Trump’s eldest son and others about the rally’s proposed orators and news coverage.
